About Me

It all began with Fan Characters…

Before I ever created my own characters or thrifted art, I fell in love with drawing the worlds I adored — Neopets, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the quirky universes that fueled my imagination. Fan art taught me who I was as an artist long before I knew the word “artist.”

…Then I discovered my own worlds…

As I kept drawing, my style evolved into something uniquely mine — bold lines, soft colors, whimsical characters, and slice-of-life illustrations that feel like warm nostalgia. My original art is where my inner world comes to life.

…And now, I turn thrifted treasures into art.

Artsy Fartsy Thrift is the playful part of my studio — where forgotten objects, vintage finds, and thrift store oddities get a new story. I love transforming everyday items into bright, character-filled pieces that feel alive again.

Behind the Art: Thoughts, process notes, and creative life moments.

  • The Weight of the Years: A Story of Highs, Lows, and Cautious Optimism

I’ve always considered myself a cautious optimist—someone who looks for the silver lining while keeping their feet firmly on the ground. Yet, there is one area of my life where that optimism has been tested for decades: my relationship with my weight. Today, I want to pull back the curtain and talk about the role weight has played in my life—the good, the bad, and the undeniably ugly.

  • A Chicagoan in Kansas City: The One Where I Finally Flew

One of the many things that kept me busy last month was a work conference in Kansas City, Missouri. Since this was my first flight in my life, I want to give you the personal highlights. Consider this my unfiltered, cheeky take on a trip to the Show-Me State.

  • The Great Reselling Experiment: How I Built a Business and Why I Walked Away

My little business was called the Vintage Lemur. So, if it was doing well, why did I stop? That's what we're going to get into today. I’ll walk you through what inspired me to start, the day-to-day experience, and why I eventually decided to close up shop.
